Environment

Same quiet time slot most days (even 25 minutes helps).
Phone away; one browser tab for Classroom if needed.
Celebrate effort and calm retries, not “being smart.”

What helps learning

Ask: “Teach me one thing you learned” at the end of a session.
Use mistakes as normal: “What would you try next?”
Let students work through Blocks and CAD themselves — the hands-on experience is what builds understanding.

Logistics

Add coach deadlines and tryout date to a family calendar.
Plan sleep the night before; avoid cramming past bedtime.
Pack water, snack, and any forms the school requested.

If they’re anxious

Nerves are normal—say so out loud.
Practice the intro 3×: name, grade, one interest, why robotics.
Teams want coachable kids—not someone who “knows it all.”

School and coach materials (including Google Classroom) define expectations; this page is extra family support—not a substitute.
